I love London a weird amount. Between the food, the people, the shopping and markets, the park roaming, the outerwear utilization..I’m sad every time I leave and am thinking I need to think up more excuses to make the trek. This outfit was from the last day there, it was really cold for my California blood but I was cozy in layers. The vest is as beautiful as it is slightly scary to wear in all of it’s white suede glory, the rest is just black staples.

My close friend Lilly McDowell Walton(yes, my annoyingly very good looking friend who got married in Caroline Herrera) and her mother Mary Steenburgen are the brains behind www.nellscompass.com. A boutique candle company created in honour of Nell, Mary's mother and Lilly's grandmother. Inspired by family memories of fireflies in the dusk of an Arkansas summer, rainy day jigsaw puzzles in Marth'a Vineyard and the sound of bee's droning in the lavender on a sleepy afternoon is Ojai, California. To me these these candles are a reflection of two amazing women who have created something magical for the world to share out of a love for fragrance, family and one another. x

Since my last post I’ve clocked up air-miles from New Orleans, to Milan, then Paris and most recently an amazing 10 day job in the Caribbean. The Independence Day long weekend brought about a well earned and welcomed break in the form of lobster claws, live music on the beach, sandy dance floors and Wiffle Ball

We are really looking forward to SoHo Shop Walk and in preparation for the event we thought we would give you a sneak peak each day at some of the boutiques and independents designers/online shops that will be participating on the night.
Being the nosey people that we are, we asked the owners of these fabulous businesses for their favourite trend and pieces for summer.

What is your favorite trend for summer?

Alexa & Todd say anything goes in the Summer – but our personal favourites are maxi dresses, both block colours, stripes and prints. We just love the way a maxi dress falls on the figure!

From your collection, what is your favorite piece for summer and why?

We are loving Woodford & Co’s Village Maxi dress in both Black and White. So simple, yet so beautiful – you have to love the detailed embroidery on the neckline and sleeves. Moroccan Boho style – our fave.

What would you pair it with?

Ohhh where to start? big floppy sun hats, for those wanting a bolder look, trapper hats would be cool too.. gold, bronze, or tanned strappy sandals, big oversized sunglasses, chunky bangles or rings, the possibilities are endless!

In the eleven years i have known my dear friend Lils i have never seen her as beautiful as she looked on this day. I know this sounds cliche but i could not tear my eyes off her. It was intense. She was someone truly happy. If I was wearing Carolina Herrera I think I would be truly happy.

Certain items elicit so many questions that I thought it would be easier to post about a few of them at once. Daily I get about 50 emails asking what kind of camera is behind the blog. We shoot with a Canon 5D and a Canon 5D Mark II, both of which cause for no complaints. I'm not necessarily anti-Nikon, Canon just happens to be what we started out with a couple years ago. Second, and probably because there are about a million different models of them out there, I get a lot about the exact style of Ray-ban Wayfarers that I wear - I looked up the code on the side and they're these. Forever favorites. And lastly, the low-heeled motorcycle/cowboy boots I always wear are by Jeffrey Campbell, I got them at an LF sale in La Jolla last year and have worn them so much that I just got the rivets and heels replaced AND sought out a similar style with a higher heel by Barbara Bui.

Oh and it's obviously not pictured here but the elastic strap black minidress that I wore at Coachella is by Australian brand One Teaspoon..I got it at Live on Sunset right before the drive out. Obsessed. I wore it with a shearling vest by (also Australian) Woodford & Co., and yes it was cold enough the first night for it! Deserts. Yeah. Hopefully this rambling will sort of suffice until I manage to do a wardrobe favorites post.

A self confessed author, journalist, blogger, copywriter and astronaut. A petite package of wit, charm, spark and intelligence. How can i prove this???? If your not already following her you should. Miss Foster is a die hard twittering fool that can keep you laughing out loud on a daily basis. She is a literary genius, seriously if you haven't read her novel "Playing The Field" then your nobodies business. Her step by step guide on landing a dude, "Textbook Romance" is more important then French Vogue and she is the editor of a beauty website called primped.com.au, a website that has so much glorious content you will be oohing and ahhhing while at the same time wishing you looked like Isabel Lucas. And if that wasn't enough she is about to release her new book in June called Amazing Face. Something my haggard face will be snapping up quick smart. Oh yeah and watch out for her Woodford & Co Wardrobe on her book tour......

Sheree Commerford, what in the name of Grug are you doing asking ME that? I am not a style icon! I am an author who spends her time in grubby tracksuit pants, trying to find a t-shirt or hoody that will prevent her having to wear a bra so she may go get her coffee in the morning and not terrify the locals. Sometimes I am required to gussy up and look pretty at events (a refreshing change from having to attend 10 a week), and then I put in effort, yes, but generally I find fashion hard. It's like maths - these shoes plus those pants plus that shirt and that belt and those earrings - and I was always horrible at maths. Better at hair and makeup. Much easier. No chance of it not fitting, either.

Would it be possible to set my brother up on a blind date with you?

While I am sure Junior Von Commerford is a marvellous specimen, I am happily (deliriously, dizzyingly) taken.

Whats so special about BC?? A few things in fact. Not only does she reside in NYC's most popular borough, famous for Coney Island, the dodgers and Saturday night fever, she is one hot girlie photographer. Assistant to a cool dude by the name of Greg Kadel she has worked with some pretty tricky glamourous folk. Our lass has tripped around the world, stayed at fancy pants places, been paid to pash supermodels and work waist deep in tropical waters. You would think she would be a bit of a wanker BUT she is the nicest hometown girl we know. Combined with extremely good looks and a lovely rig you could hate her....but you wont. For the current winter collection Imagined Lands, I was obsessed with Henna Tattoos also known as Mehndi. So intricate and mysterious it's a shame they are not permanent. The time and work it takes to create this artwork i would want them to last forever.

Next best thing was a yardage that could be worn on many a beautiful lady, ode to the henna.
